Home Learning for School Closure

Dear Parents, Carers and Children,
We are here to support you the best we can through this difficult time. Our children’s learning is of upmost importance to us so as a school we have come up with many resources you can use to aid your children’s home learning.
All the websites below have wonderful online resources, games and ebooks for you to use with your child.
The websites cover all year groups. You will only need to look at the work aimed at your child’s year group. A lot of the websites also cover different subjects too.
Class teachers are also putting together specific learning of topics, reading, writing and maths for their classes. These will be put on the class page and updated regularly so please keep your eye on these.

The teachers are missing the children lots so each teacher now has access to an email address to hear from you. Let them know what you have been doing in isolation, which activities or websites you have tried and also how you are. We look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome to Hemswell Cliff Primary School

Mrs WaplingtonIt is my pleasure to offer a warm welcome to our website. We hope that this website will give you an insight into our school and help you to find all of the information that you need.

At Hemswell Cliff we are very proud of our school.

The school is set in grounds which are both attractive and extensive. Our school is a lovely building to be in and the learning environment is bright and stimulating. Our exceptional staff are warm and caring whilst having the highest of expectations of each child. The teaching and learning that they provide is of the highest quality. Every pupil is encouraged to strive for personal excellence in all areas of school life. We aim to support pupils as they learn by giving them a strong sense of belonging, building self esteem and developing a passion for learning and the confidence to try new things that we allow each child to flourish and truly achieve their potential.

Please continue to browse our website or even better come and visit our school and see the school at work!

World Book Day 5 March

World Book 2020 started with a costume parade and staff had the tricky challenge of choosing a winner from each class. The winners were Cinderella, Bellatrix LeStrange and King Minos. We followed this with a game of BookBusters where children could show off their reading knowledge. Through the rest of the day the children were invited to ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?’ by entering a competition to guess which characters from literature were coming to a dinner party. You can see more pictures on our Classes page.
